10 ways to survive being social

Because choosing between friends and Netflix is already harder than it should be.

#1. Dress for Comfort
It is proven that productivity and general happiness greatly decrease the moment you have to put on real pants. Opt for a dress, leggings, or anything with an elastic band.

#2. Quote Seinfeld As Often As Possible
It soothes the soul.

 #3. Remember Names
It's an easy way to make people think you care. Don't freak out, it just takes focus. You can't just meet someone and think, "what is hanging from her eyelash?"
Pay Attention. Face-Name-Face-Name-Face-MoleName.

#4. Practice Small Talk

Develop a level of comfort with some go-to phrases proven to keep conversations rolling.
Suggestions include: "interesting." "Noooo, really??" "I never would have guessed that." "Tell me more." "Sounds unique!"

#5. Prepare for Compromise
People do not want to do the things you want to do. The sooner you are able to accept this, the easier your journey will be.

#6. Do Not Talk About Your Pets
People do not want to hear about your pets. They also do not want to stand around waiting for your to find photos of the one time your one cat did that one thing. The sooner you are able to accept this, the easier your journey will be.

#7. Wear Deodorant
You never remember deodorant, until you realize you have forgotten it.

#8. Smile
People may think you're awkward, but they'll be more willing to put up with you if you are nice.

#9. Have a Plan
Always know your exit strategy. Don't wait until it's too late. That's how you get stuck at lame parties, chasing down cabs at 3am, or lost in a solitary desert. All are very unfortunate, and preventable.

#10. Treat Yo Self
Sometimes it's all a little overwhelming. It's okay to turn on E! until you feel better about yourself.
